Day 9

Wow, was I feeling good today! This afternoon I loaded the kids up and ran to the store, I will have to say that the lack of carbs makes running a lot harder! As soon as I got back Nate was ready for our workout so we got the kids set up in the garage and began plyometrics. I for sure thought that since I went for a run right before that I wouldn't be able to finish the video but man was I wrong! Not only did I finish the video but I was able to do so much more of the jumping that I was unable to do last week, I also didn't feel like I was going to "toss my cookies" after the workout. It is amazing how much progress your body can make in just one week.

Nate had a good start to his workout but the poor guy was experiencing so much fatigue that he was unable to do as much as he wanted. Plyometrics is an intense aerobic workout and Nate's body is just unable to perform at peak performance without those carbs. So for the next 2 weeks of phase 1 (80% protein, 20% carbs) we are going to bump up his carbs at every meal and see how that helps.

This last couple days have really proven to us that food is truly the "gas" to our body. It is amazing how food can make you feel physically. While we have been eating clean I feel so much better and healthier whenever I eat junk food and lots of sugar I find myself dragging and then wanting to eat more bad food and greasy food makes me feel yucky all over. It is nice to know that we have the knowledge of the good foods to eat that fuel our bodies with what they need to work at its full potential.
